A century of insulation expertise, manufactured in India

The facility has a high degree of machine and process control automation to ensure repeatable production. The company operates a low speed specialty paper machine with all stainless steel contact parts, preventing contamination from rusting machine parts and so minimising the conductivity of the insulation paper.

The best test of the efficiency of insulation paper lies in its minimal conductivity, which in turn contributes to the longevity of the transformer.

TAI uses only virgin fibre in all its transformer insulation products. All pulp is imported from reputed electrical grade market pulp sources in Europe and North America. TAI is the first and only manufacturer of electrical grade insulation paper in India to use de-mineralised water in its process. All process water passes through an on-site demineralisation plant.

TAI is also the first and only manufacturer in India to make insulation paper in dual-ply (twin layer), for higher tensile strength. Dual-ply is our standard construction, not an option. Offline calendering and supercalendering ensure uniform thickness and density, and the paper is guaranteed not to tear in edgefolding operations during transformer manufacture.
